Samoa

The flag of Samoa (sometimes called Western Samoa) was adopted on February 24, 1949.  It consists of a red field with a blue rectangle in the canton. The blue rectangle in the upper hoist-side quadrant displays five white five-pointed stars representing the Southern Cross constellation. The color red stands for courage, blue represents freedom, and white signifies purity   This flag originally had only had four stars; the fifth star was added on 24 February, 1949. The basic design of the flag of Samoa was created in 1948.

We were so happy today was a beautiful day for geocaching!! The winter has been cold and we have 4 crazy caching kids that are ready to hit the road for some family time fun. We will be passing it out soon; have to find a good place for it since most of our caches in Texarkana are pretty urban. Thanks for the history lesson of the flag.
