The Hofburg was the Imperial Residence of the first Habsburgs long before the government was moved to Vienna. The buildings now are museums—the royal apartmests may be toured. Another building houses the Folkcrafts Museum. This ticket was purchased for the former. The photo on the ticket is that of a painting of Elisabeth of Austria, wife of Emporer Franz Josef. While the residence was opulent, but the thing that most caught my attention were the decorated stoves in every room that had to be stoked by unseen persons from passageways behind the walls. A representative photo was uploaded.
