Ludwigsburg Residential Palace is one of the few Baroque buildings to have survived the tumultuous history of the last centuries almost unscathed. The palace was built between 1704 and 1733 during the rule of Duke Eberhard Ludwig. In former times, it was the residence of the kings of Württemberg.
Now Ludwigsburg is a fascinating modern Baroque city. It is a place where the past meets the present. Historical buildings, boulevards and streets define the cityscape just as much as its vibrant city centre, modern universities and excellent arts and culture venues.

Das Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg ist eines der wenigen Barockbauten, das die turbulente Geschichte der letzten Jahrhunderte nahezu unbeschadet überstanden hat. Erbaut wurde das Schloss zwischen 1704 und 1733 unter Herzog Eberhard Ludwig. Einst war es Residenz der württembergischen Könige.
Jetzt ist Ludwigsburg ist eine reizvolle, moderne Barockstadt. Sie vereint Geschichte und Gegenwart. Historische Gebäude, Alleen und Straßenzüge prägen das Stadtbild ebenso wie eine lebendige Innenstadt, moderne Hochschulen und hervorragende Kunst- und Kulturzentren.
