Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; this prevents the chain and tag tangling with other items. Otherwise, take this travel bug anywhere you wish. San Pedro Tlaquepaque, also known as Tlaquepaque is a city and the surrounding municipality in the Mexican state of Jalisco. During the 20th century it was absorbed by the outward spread of the state capital and is now a neighborhood of Guadalajara. The name Tlaquepaque derives from Nahuatl and means "place above clay land". The area is famous for its pottery and blown glass.
Another Tlaquepaque is the small artist colony that is part of the city of Sedona, AZ, in Oak Creek Canyon. The village of shops and restaurants was established as an artist colony in the 1970s. According to promotional literature it was authentically fashioned after a traditional Mexican village, Tlaquepaque, meaning the "best of everything." This interpretation makes me smile. Nevertheless, a very pleasant morning was passed there in December of 2010. And, there truly is some quality art on display (and for sale).
I am always on the lookout for something to convert to a travel bug. I bought this in a bead shop where custom jewelry was being made on the spot, with items selected by the shoppers themselves.
