Ferrying señoritafish, mate runsamok, and fry datadoggieein, dreadtrex, and kokonutkitten from geocache to geocache. And school. And work. And shopping. And camping. And...whatever.
Yay! As of January 2013, we actually own her!
Edit: due to a mishap - CicadKIA is having to be totaled as of 6/13/2016 at almost 10 years old. I'm glad she finally got to go to a MegaEvent in Arizona in January. Here's hoping we can move her number to whatever replaces her and she can continue to take us to caches in spirit. *Sniff* She was a good horse.
July 2016: CicadKIA II (newer model Sedona) is now what the car company terms "Midnight Sapphire" and while she lacks some of the originals perks (like a DVD player and a sunroof), she has some others that are appreciated (like Bluetooth!). Here's hoping she serves as our geomobile for a good long time.
Runsamuk came up with the name - he was trying to connect "Kia" with some other word, and a noisy long-lived hemipteran insect (appropos as it's a travelbug) came to mind. Our faithful blue/green now dark blue Kia Sedona. The bug itself may be a trifle hard to see, as it's on a side window that's tinted, but there's a Geocaching sticker on the outside to mark the place. Bug is now magnetic on the rear.
There's also a "hitchhiker" for visiting actual caches or events - a cicada-shaped ring with the same number attached ("go find me in the parking lot!"). It get logged if CicadaKIA travels the majority of the distance to the cache - it does not get logged if we walked or travel by other means (such as by air, for work travel). Perhaps if the sticker wears out (or the vehicle does), we'll release it on its own. Nope, found out it's possible to replace with a custom numbered one, so we'll just keep the number going.
