About This Item

This geocoin is one of numerous being distributed by the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge.This coin's goal is to draw more people to explore, appreciate the Refuges, and to share their experiences and wildlife sightings. The National Wildlife Refuge System, managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is the world's premier system of public lands and waters set aside to conserve America's fish, wildlife and plants. Since President Theodore Roosevelt designated Florida's Pelican Island as the first wildlife refuge in 1903, the System has grown to more than 150 million acres, 550 national wildlife refuges and other units of the Refuge System, plus 37 wetland management districts. Found in a really nice area for viewing wildlife. Great old highway next to the new 61. Took the goose to two caches today but they didn't have any logs/cache's just info - they were in the Wachota Landing & McNally Landing in Prairie Island. Will move on to another spot. Thanks for letting me enjoy these wonderful Geocoins!
