    Today marked the 52nd anniversary of my ETS from the Army.

    Over the years, we've had several families of Carolina wrens build nests and raise families in our hanging baskets. They've never seemed overly disturbed when we've watered them.

    In late spring about twenty years ago, one family had four fledglings learning to fly in our back terrace and our then elderly cat watched them learn to fly without any apparent predatory urges. In the early fall, we were surprised to see four Carolina wrens doing a fly-around in our terrace. We're convinced they were visiting their home before heading out into the world on their own.

    We get a lot of Carolina Titmouses (titmice?) at our backyard bird feeder. They seem like courteous neighbors and patiently await their turn at the buffet.

    The log was in great shape, but despite the large container, there was no swag and I didn't have any with me this afternoon.

    Only saw a single 'gator and he was barely 4' long.

    The Bewitched casting department did an incredible job replacing Darren. Totally seamless for the viewer.

    In old timey radio, the casting department for the program, The Great Gildersleeve managed an equally seamless replacement when they found Willard Waterman to replace Harold Peary in the middle of a run that lasted half a generation. Not only did they find an almost identical voice actor, the resemblance between the two was remarkable.
