This Celilo Falls TB would like to travel to other beautiful and special places.
Celilio Falls was a tribal fishing area. It was in the United States on the Columbia River between the two States of Washington and Oregon. Native Americans called Celilo Falls “Wy-am,” which means "Echo of Falling Water." The echo was silenced forever in 1957, when the Dalles Dam was built & the area was flooded. The locals couldn't believe it as they watched the slowly rising water gradually cover their sacred & beloved falls.
