Here is another of our favorite Caches:
Homey Cache: (GCX38D)
As I mentioned in the log for the CBWA cache the hike was a bit more than we bargined for. But we made it in the end and that's all that counts. Got started on the trail aroun 10am and got back to the car around 3pm. Along the trail we saw plenty of frogs, a phesant, tadpoles, and bugs, bugs, bugs although the bug spray did work pretty well.
Lived in Granite for 16 years and have never hiked this trail before. Thanks for bringing us to these great lakes.
I have always wanted to find a cache located on an island in the middle of a small lake. Just wish that the island was a bit harder to get to. Wading makes it too easy. It should be a full fledged swim!
When we arrived at the island there was a father and his daughter sitting on the island. We didn't have the time to wait them out so +1 waded over the island to find the cache. Fortunately the father was familiar with geocaching himself so there wasn't the need to explain what I was doing. We also left them the coordinates for the CBWA cache and Mallardy Cache.
Thanks again for bringing us here.
