Geocache Description:

Thorpe Park is located 5 miles west of Forest City, Iowa.

This cache has been placed by the Winnebago County Conservation Board and is in a small, plastic container. Thorpe Park is home to the headquarters of the Winnebago County Conservation Board. The area contains a mix of uplands and wetlands, as well as amenities such as a rental cabin, a shelter house, a campground, and Lake Catherine (a small fishing lake). The park has been the site of trumpeter swan releases and swans often nest in the park. In October, 2006, a trio of whooping cranes also visited the park!
