Geocache Description:

Legend has it that on Tarn Hill once stood a dark and run-down home of a very ugly couple in the 1800s. They were so ugly that they dared not look even at themselves or each other. The house was kept completely dark and they owned no mirrors. Because of their ugliness, no one would ever come over to visit, not even politicians running for office seeking every vote. As the story goes, in the middle of the night there was a strange noise. They woke up and decided each should explore a different part of the house with a flashlite to seek out the source of the erie noise and destroy it. Approaching the alleged source of the noise silently from opposite directions, the couple ended up face-to-face scaring each other to complete death. Many weeks passed before their bodies were discovered by a mexican roofing crew who came soliciting to sell them a replacement roofing job based on damage from a recent hailstorm, and to be fully paid for by their insurance company of course.

Apparently a blind coroner was brought in to deal with the bodies. Even being blind, he still opted to prepare the bodies at night. The next night, at midnight, the couple was buried face down somewhere in Tarnhill Park. No one knows quite where since no one dared attend the funeral.

Ever since this event, an UGLY curse has surrounded Tarnhill Park. When you visit this park, or anywhere in central Bloomington actually, you will see what I mean. As a potential remedy for this curse, or to gain lifetime immunity to ugliness, you must visit this cache and sign the log. Do not spend any more time in this park than is absolutely necessary. If you fail to find the cache, or fail to leave something for others, you will instead be cursed yourself of which there is no other cure. Good luck!

Below are a few examples of geocachers who tried and failed to find this cache. Please, do not let this happen to you!
