Caver Bill: This one is totally destroyed due to slope construction in the adjacent cemetery. Also, the access has been fenced off by the bridge maintenance people due to a crumbling stone facade they haven't repaired. Sad to see this go. It's had a long run. Time to open the area up for someone else. The hotel is officially closed. All guests have checked out.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the D & R Canal State Park hiking trail off of North Main Street (Route 29) just north of Lambertville. Park at the parking lot at N40-22.797 W074-57.110. Parking is right next to the canal. Access the parking lot via the road for the Holcombe Jimison Farmstead Museum (www.holcombe-jimison.org/). The Farmstead Museum is open from May to October. Enjoy a visit to the museum if you cache here during that season.

West Central Jersey Travel Bug Hotel is for Travel Bugs ONLY. Located adjacent to the Delaware River toll bridge on Route 202, this should be an easy catch & release site for any travel bug. The cache is an ammo box. Watch for nearby muggles (i.e., hikers and bikers) on the hiking trail. Some days are busier than others. WINTER ALERT! THIS AREA HAS A LOT OF MUGGLE TRAFFIC FROM JOGGERS, BIKERS, WALKERS, FISHERMEN, ETC. IT MAY BE BETTER TO SKIP THIS CACHE WHEN SNOW IS ON THE GROUND. THE FOOTPRINTS WOULD BE A BIG GIVEAWAY. WAIT UNTIL ANY SNOW MELTS. SUMMER ALERT! The underbrush, nettles, and PI get thicker and grow in during the summer months. Approach with care. The rest of the year it dies down greatly. WEST CENTRAL JERSEY TRAVEL BUG HOTEL RULES: It is preferred (but not required) that you only take a bug if you have one to leave; if you leave two you may take two, etc. 1) All bugs must register upon entering the hotel. They must always be logged out upon checking out. There is a log-book in the hotel for this purpose. 2) Only travel bugs are allowed in the hotel. This cache is for the sole purpose of getting travel bugs to their destinations. 3) All bugs must be entered on www.geocaching.com as soon as possible so as not to worry their owners. 4) We don't rent rooms by the hour! (hehehehe) 5) You can check in or check out of this hotel from dawn to dusk (this IS a State Park). Travel Bugs need their sleep at night. 6) Log your first visit to the hotel as a "Found" and any subsequent visits to the cache to drop off or pick up other travel bugs as a "Note" . 7) PLEASE RETURN CACHE TO ITS ORIGINAL HIDING PLACE!!!!! Replace the concealment material to help prevent vandalism. I hope this hotel will be easy for a find and grab cache, to keep travel bugs going in the right direction. Hotel is not far from the parking area. Add this cache to your watch list to keep tabs on bugs that you may help along! Enjoy your stay.
