The co-ords listed are the co-ords for Warthogs Bush
Lodge which is where everyone will meet and start
the event from.
The event will start at 10am
SHARP and the first team will depart at 10:30am,
so please be there early.
We are hoping for
about 20 to 60 non-cachers to participate in this event and hope to
have about 20 GPS units for these people.
The event will be approximately 3 hours in length
and there will be many prizes to be given away to
winners and others. (Scoring will be a secret, so don't
ask).
The race is going to
be filmed by Mazda Adventures (Mazda Adventure Zone, Monday
nights at 9pm - SS1). Quite a few sponsors have already
commited some excelent prizes including a GPS
Unit.
Keep watching this
space for more useful information and hope to see you there...
Diarise NOW so you have no excuses for not being able to make
it.
- GROUPS: One or Two teams
will be allowed per car and not three or more teams. The
objective of this event is to have fun as well as introduce new
people to the sport. eg. If you have two people in your group and a
friend you may be asked to take along one extra person who is a
non-cacher. If you are a single person, then you can take up to 3
non-cachers with you. It will be up to you to make it fun for them
so that they consider taking up the sport..
- CACHES: There will be quite a number of caches
placed about the area. They will range from Multi, Traditional,
Virtual and Puzzle caches (all of which you will only see on the
day). On completion of each cache you will find a laminated card
with the details on it, which you will be required to note down the
number and bring this back with you to the finish
point.
- SCORING: Based on the number of caches
completed (numbers you return with) and the difficulty and distance
scores will be allocated and the winner will be the group with the
highest score.
- DIFFICULTY: There are going to caches rated
from 1 to 3 in this event with ALL TYPES of caches to be enjoyed.
Some will be only for the adventurous and some for the lazy.. Some
will require agility and height whilst others may require crawling
or scavaging.
The overall point is
to HAVE FUN...
Be there for the best
geo-caching event of South Africa!!!!

Cane creek is no
longer involved in this event and as such it has been renamed to
the Mazda Adventure Zone 2007 Geocaching Challenge. Besides the
name change, everything else is identical. All prizes (and more)
are still up for grabs. Its still going to be filmed and its still
being held at the same venue. Some things are just beyond our
control.
There
will be swimming and lunch available at the event. So please bring
along your costume and towel.
We already have 20 teams attending and approximately 25
non-cachers in addition to what the cachers are bringing along. We
expect to have well over 60 people attending. Come on those of you
who haven't said you are attending, come join the
fun.
HOPE TO SEE
YOU ALL THERE.
