Geocache Description:

Mountain Home Originals

Idaho Geocachers

We decided that another local Letterbox Hybrid was in order. This one to pay tribute to the cachers who have contributed in one way or another to our sickness, helped make Mountain Homes geocaching community what it is today and are still going strong. The hike will be a good one coming in at .96 miles as the crow flies. You will be rewarded with amazing scenery throughout. First of all a 4WD is needed to get into the area and as long as you are there swing by and pick up the "End of the Trail" cache. The posted coordinates are where you need to leave you rig then you can begin the adventure!!!
Once you park you need to set your gps to NAD27 and go to
UTM 11 605484E
4734348N

From here on out you will project in True North and Meters. The info will be in pint containers at each stage. I have posted a picture of the container so you can know ahead of time what you are looking for during your quest. The final container is a 1/2 gallon tuperware jug. You have now reached
Stage 1 GeoRickS's Rocks.
GeoRickS is the reason we started geocaching in the first place. He showed us how the whole geocaching game was played, helped us find our first few, been a consistent weekend cache buddy and the rest is history...
Stage 2 3kings&1queen's Castle.
3kings&1queen have cached all over the U.S. and even in Iraq. Their cache mobile (mini-van) has seen places that normal people wouldn't dare! (Labyrinth GCM2DQ)
Stage 3 Team Desertrat82's Rats Nest.
Team Desertrat82 have the most hidden caches in the area. In fact they even put one in their yard so we bring our travel bugs to them. Their Hoodoo 2 (GCNH39) Letterbox Hybrid is directly responsible for this cache's placement
Stage 4 *Rockydog*:-)'s Perch.
*Rockydog*:-) is absolutely the craziest cacher we know. Whether it is swimming across a reservoir for a cache (The Other Side GCXBKH) or driving all weekend to hike up a mountain (Peak-A-Boo: Mt. Whitney GC75C3) he just doesn't stop amazing us with how far he'll go for a cache.
Stage 5 mmj56's Throne.
mmj56 (Team Desertrat82 and *Rockydog*:-)'s mother) is absolutely an amazing woman. Many times one or more of us would be contemplating whether to climb up or hike in to a cache and remember that mmj has been there. This has inspired us to press on. Climbing mountains, completing caches like Totally Flipping Insane I (GCBFB4) MMJ is truly the Queen of Mountain Home geocaching.

FTF prize is an 2006 IGO coin and the cache has other assorted IGO gear in it plus some batteries and carbiners. We also dropped a TB and a geocoin in it to get the interest rolling. Please rescue these trackables! I recommend bringing a lunch for a picnic and plenty of water. If the roads are wet this could be a treacherous drive in. Also along your journey you will not have to climb any of the cliff faces nearby. I would recommend not trying as the rock is brittle and could give way! Have a nice trip and Good Luck!
