How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

In a park along the Hudson River. Moderate Muggle activity, but otherwise should be an easy find.

The first in a series of caches placed near benchmarks in Westchester County, New York. This cache is near two Geodetic survey benchmarks, so check them out when you come to search for the cache. You can search for the benchmark info on the Geocaching website. Look for LX0972 and LX0973.

The cache is a small quad-lock container somewhat disguised with black tape. It is large enough for small trade items and travel bugs. You will have to step onto rocks that may be damp, or icy in winter, to access the cache. Please use caution and common sense.

Most of the nearest parking is by permit, particularly during the week, so read the posted rules before leaving your car, or park a little further away and walk to the site.

UPDATE
Cache replaced and moved to a less busy location in the park. Description above edited to describe the new location.
