Bärenberg Traditional Geocache

Der Turm ist vorübergehend gesperrt. Geht bitte nicht in die Nähe des Turmes! Das ist gefährlich.

Dieser Cache ist auf dem Aussichtsturm des Bärenbergs versteckt, in einer Höhe von 600 m über NN. Bei gutem Wetter hat man von hier aus einen der spektakulärsten Ausblicke der Region. Man sieht das Egge-Gebirge im Nord-Westen, die Wilhelmshöhe im Osten und viele kleinere Berge im Süden. Unten braust die A44 friedlich entlang.

Dieser Wander-Parkplatz liegt zwar direkt neben der Autobahn, ist aber weitab von einer Ausfahrt. Ich habe auch keinen Weg gefunden, den Cache vom Autobahn-Parkplatz Bärenberg aus zu erreichen. Der Wander-Parkplatz ist in Zierenberg hier beschildert:

Vom Wander-Parkplatz aus sind es noch 250 m zum Cache, allerdings Höhenmeter: Die horizontale Entfernung vom Parkplatz zum Cache beträgt etwa 2 km. Auf dem Weg zum Cache ist der GPS-Empfang recht mies. Das ist aber egal, denn es gibt nur den einen Weg zum Cache: den Weg bergauf. Dieser ist dafür gut ausgebaut.
Der Cache ist oben auf der Aussichtsplattform des Turms in einem Stahlträger neben der Treppe versteckt. Ich habe ein Spoiler-Foto dazugepackt. Vorsicht mit den Muggles!

This cache is hidden on the view tower of the Bärenberg (Bear Mountain), 600 meters above sea level. If the weather is fine, you will enjoy one of the most spectacular scenic views of this region. You can see the Egge Mountains in the north-west, the Wilhelmshöhe (William's Height) in the east, and many smaller mountains in the south. The A44 motorway is peacefully roaring below.

This is a car park for hikers. Although it is close to the motorway, it is far away from a motorway exit. I also could not find a way to reach the cache from the motorway parking area called Bärenberg. The car park is signposted in Zierenberg here:

From the car park it is 250 meters up to the cache. The horizontal distance from the car park to the cache is about 2 km. On the way to the cache you might have a bad GPS reception. But this does not matter because there is only one way to the cache: the way up. The path to the cache is in an excellent state.
The cache is hidden on the platform of the view tower in a steel girder close to the stairs. I added a spoiler picture. Beware of muggles!
