A Shindig event for all of our
geocacher friends to meet, eat, and be merry at the beginning
of the 2006 holiday season.

| ACTIVITIES
SCHEDULE

• 9:00 am - Shindig committee to set up. Walk-in
volunteers welcome. Coffee and Hot Chocolate available.
• 10:00 am
- Cachers may begin to arrive - Please stop at the
registration table to pick up your name tags and sign our log
book!
•
10:30 am - NWOGEO Shindig Sudoku Reindeer Game starts.

We
will announce the game rules later for the competitive folks.
However, for those who just want to leisurely find the 11 permanent
caches that are part of the game, may do so at their own pace, and
pick up the cache info at any time after the game
starts.
These
caches will NOT be published on geocaching.com until later in the
evening on 12/10 per Cap’n Buckeye.
If
you don’t know how to solve a Sudoku puzzle, start practicing now!
Just Google it!

Dinner for the Shindig will be
professionally catered. Costs will be kept low to allow everyone to
attend.

Our dinner menu will include:
- Mixed tossed salad with apples and
"Cache-u"s
- Choice of chicken or beef
- Mashed Potatoes with herbs/garlic/cheese
- Corn and Beans
- Rolls |

Desserts will be pot luck. So start thinking
about what you would like to bring. Please mention your
intentions for bringing dessert in the event logs. (We may also
request this in our registration.)
•
You are invited to bring your favorite
cookies or goodies to participate in a "Christmas
Cookie Swap".

Place
1 dozen cookies or goodies on a designated table. We’ll have
stickers to place your caching name and a number on the cookie or
goodie container. After dinner, you will find your number on the
TOP of another batch of cookies, and you will see which cacher’s
cookies you will take home. The drawing will be held after
dinner.
Feel
free to bring EXTRA cookies to share in our pot luck
dessert! (In a separate container if
necessary.) |
Please note
that you are NOT required to bring cookies or desserts.
• Various beverages will be provided by NWOGEO for
all attendees. Do you remember grandma's punch?

COSTS |
The event cost
is $10 per adult. One 12 and under child FREE per each paid
adult. (Catered food cost
included!)
The RSVP
system is now closed. You are still welcome to attend the
event without the catered meal.
The cost at the door will be $5 per adult to cover beverages and
snacks. Children 12 and under will be free.
Please post a note so that we can monitor
numbers for facility capacity.
Payment for event and coins will be handled
with PayPal, credit card, personal check, or money order in
advance with your reservation.
Since this is a catered
event, reservations must be
received by December 1st.

We've hinted about an event coin being
available on our NWOGEO.org site since last
winter.
We can now officially announce our non-trackable souvenir
event combination coin and Holiday ornament. (Note the hole at
the top!)

This unique 1.75" wide, collectable,
Holiday themed coin was designed by our very own -Eleanor-
!
ONLY one
coin per Shindig attendee family, may be purchased in advance, as a
very limited quantity of coins will be
produced.
The coin
will cost $8, purchased in advance, with will-call at the Shindig.
Additional coins will only be available at the event, if the
produced quantity is not exhausted by advanced
purchases.

available due to technical difficulties, we are at least
finally revealing the design of the "Coinament" by providing
a front view drawing.
The final front view photo will be posted as soon as it is
becomes available!

| EVENT HISTORY |
Our very successful
2005
Holiday Shindig hosted nearly 100 people and was located in
Michigan, just over the Ohio border. Many of our Michigan
friends attended. We hope to see them again this
year. |

Advanced registration and
pre-payment is required for guaranteed admittance. Walk-in
participants will be welcome, IF we do not reach facility
capacity through advance registrations. Based on previous
years, we anticipate a capacity crowd!
Pre-payments for the
event, and Shindig Coin will be accepted via PayPal, credit
card, personal check, or money order. (Credit card payments
are processed via the PayPal system. No PayPal account is
needed!)
