Buffalo Family Fun: Home of the Bison! Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

FSU*Noles: My wife, kidlets and I all rode our bikes out to check on this cache today - and discovered it was indeed missing. What a bummer! After five+ years and over 100 visits, we decided it was time to retire this one at last. Thanks for visiting everyone!

Geocache Description:

A quick and easy Kids and Family cache series, in our little hometown of Buffalo!

Cache Details

This series of caches is for kids, families, and the young at heart! They are designed, hidden, and maintained by the 'Noles kidlets in the manner they like to find 'em when we're out "treasure hunting" - in other words, they are your basic tupperware containers hidden in the usual spots in the woods. :) We hope you enjoy the quick tour of our community parks and playfields!

Location, Parking, and Access

This cache is best accessed if you visit GCYTVP "Eastland Estates II" first, then continue along the paved bike trail for another .16 miles to this one. As you approach the Home of the Bison, be sure to trust your GPS - leave the trail there and follow the mowed grass area to the cache, or you will find yourself on the wrong side of a barbed wire fence!

The best parking is behind Buffalo High School, near the tennis courts, at N 45° 11.044 W 093° 49.907. It's free and legal most of the time, but during school hours this lot requires a permit or your car will get towed. If you must visit this cache during school hours, you'll have to take the long lonely walk from the school visitor lot, or use the original Eastland Estates multi-cache parking coordinates at N 45° 10.889 W 093° 50.226 for a super-long walk. No matter where you park, it's an easy walk along a paved bike trail all the way to the cache location.

You are looking for a .30-cal Ammo Box, hidden in the obvious spot. It starts out with small toys and trinkets, hand-selected by the 'Noles kidlets from their own personal collection, along with a $5 Target giftcard for the first finder. If you can please cover it up again as best you can, so it's not visible from the trail, we'd sure appreciate it. Other caches in this series:

  • Mills-Sturges Park (GCRB8W)
  • Trapper's Pond Park (GCRBNP)
  • Serenity Hills Park (GCRD6A)
  • Greenbriar Park (GCRDPA)
  • Eastland Estates II (GCYTVP)

As always - thanks, have fun, and happy hunting!
