This cache is located along highway 20 between Cusick and Ione. There is ample parking close to the cache site.
The ferry service across the Pend Oreille River was discontinued in 1964. Look carefully and you can see the remains of the old ferry pilings where it docked. Bring your fishing pole, binoculars and a picnic lunch. There is abundant wildlife to see: bald eagles, blue herons, osprey, beavers, wild turkeys, deer, elk, moose, bears. Enjoy exploring North Pend Oreille County. In the late 50's we rode this ferry to cross to the east side of the river to go fishing at Yocum Lake.
The cache container is an ammo can. There is something for everyone in the original contents.
