Cache je ukryta na zricenine hradu Fredevald zvaneho tez Pusty
zamek. / The cache is hidden in the ruins of Fredevald castle,
called also Deserted Castle (Wüste Schloß).

O hradu
Fredevald byl zalozen nejspise pany z Michalovic v 2. polovine 14.
stoleti k ochrane obchodni cesty mezi Kamenici a Zitavou.
Prvne se pripomina roku 1406 jako sidlo hejtmana Zikmunda ze
Slibavic ve sluzbach Berku z Dube. V roce 1428 hrad koupil Zikmund
z Vartemberka a na Decine. Za valky s luzickym Sestimestim
podnikala posadka hradu loupezne vypravy do Lužice, v jejichz
dusledku Fredevald ve 40. a 60. letech utrpel tak zavazne skody, ze
musel byt opusten.
Funkci Fredevaldu pote prevzal novejsi hrad na Zameckem vrchu nad
Ceskou Kamenici.
Z hradu se zachovaly skromne zbytky zdiva v horni casti na skalisku
a vyrazne fragmenty obvodove hradby ve spodni casti.

Pristup k hradu
K Fredevaldu nevede znacena turisticka cesta, prochazi tudy
však trasa naucne stezky Okolim Studence.
Na hrad se lze dostat od silnice vedouci z Horni Kamenice na
Kytlici. Místo k zaparkovani najdete primo pod skalou na
opacne strane silnice. Druhou moznosti je velmi prijemna, asi
dvoukilomentrova prochazka z Lisky po polnich a lesnich
cestach.
Cache
Cache je ukryta pod vrstvou sucheho listi 7-8 metru pod vrcholem
skaly.
Prosim zahrabavejte ji jen lehce, aby se nepropadla do
hlubin.

About The Castle
The Fredevald castle was founded apparently by the lords of
Michalovice in the 2nd half of 14th century to protect the trade
road between Ceska Kamenice and Zittau.
The first record of the castle is from 1406 when the sheriff
Zikmund of Slibavice (in the service of the Berkas of Duba) resided
there. In 1428 Fredevald was sold to Zikmund of Vartemberk and
Decin. The garrison used to carry out burglarious expeditions to
the Six-town alliance. As a revenge the castle was attacked and
seriously damaged and consequently abandoned.
Nowadays you can see very small remains of masonry in the upper
part of the castle, on the rock, and quite significant fragments of
rampart in the lower part.

Access to The Castle
No marked tourist path leads to Fredevald. However, the route of
the educational path Around Studenec passes by.
You can climb there from the road from Ceska Kamenice (Bhm.
Kamnitz) to Kytlice (Kittlitz). The parking place is right below
the rock on the opposite side of the road. Another possibility is
to take longer (about 1,5 mile), a very pleasant walk from Liska
(Hasel).
The Cache
The cache is hidden under a layer of dead leaves about 20 ft. below
the top of the rock.
Please cover it only as much as necessary so that it does not fall
to depth.
