Geocache Description:

A quick and easy Kids and Family-friendly cache, in the 2,600-acre Crow-Hassan Park Reserve!

Cache Details

This cache is hidden near the main parking lot of the Crow-Hassan Park Reserve. This one is only a short walk, but the hike to get the rest of the caches in the park is a little over 3 miles in all - so this one will give you a chance to warm up, stretch your legs, and get into the groove before you head off to the others.

Location, Parking, and Access

If you're not familiar with Crow-Hassan, the main park entrance is at N 45° 10.999 W 093° 37.467, directly off County Road 203. Follow the road all the way back, and you can park directly adjacent to the main trailhead at N 45° 11.102 W 093° 37.817. Horses and dogs are allowed on the trail, and there's plenty of room for both. There is a $5 fee for each horse and rider if you're actually riding, but otherwise this section of the park is free.

You're looking for a small Lock 'n Lock container, wrapped in camo'd duct tape. Deep snow will hamper your search, but the cache should still be pretty much accessible all year 'round. While you're standing at the base of the geobeacon, take a moment and look up the wide trunk towards the top, and see if you can spot a hole about ten feet up on the left side. That was the original hiding spot for this cache, but alas Three Rivers does not allow that type of hide, so you have it easy! But standing where you are and thinking about it...doesn't it look like it'd be fun to find this one there? :)

The cache starts out stuffed to the brim with small toys, hand-selected by the 'Noles kidlets from their own personal collection. As always, have fun and happy hunting!

This cache has been registered with the Three Rivers Park District, and is placed with their permission.
