An easy three stage multi located near the Poznan Zoo (The New Zoo).
Located in the Cybina River Valley, with an area of 116,33 ha, construction on The New Zoo started in 1967. It was first opened to the public in 1974. At that time approximately 60% of its area are pine and mixed forests. The creek crossing the Zoo's premises was dammed to form a string of ponds with a total area over 16 ha. The Zoo is home to some 2.000 animals representing approximately 140 species. The animals are kept in a nearly natural environment. The New Zoo includes a Nocturnal Animal Pavillon opened in 1995.
Zoo is opened daily from 9am to 7pm.
You can get there by car or by Malta Miniature Railway. You really should take the railway, its a lot of fun
First opened in 1972, Malta Minature Railway runs along a 3,8 km route along Lake Malta's nothern shore. The train sets off at a station called "Maltanka", stops at three intermediate stations: "Ptys"( close to Novotel
Hotel), "Przystan", and ends its course at the " Zwierzyniec" end station(near New Zoo entrance).
Since 1994, the train has been pulled by a new combustion- engine, powered by car-locomotive known as the Snout, which is a reference to its shape. This is the oldest operational car-locomotives in Europe.
Runs to New Zoo- service are avaiable daily in the spring and summer and on Saturdays/Sundays in the fall and winter. The trains runs from ul. Jana Pawla II to the New Zoo.
