Mission Improbable 3 - Missing In Action Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Bolas Heathens: Looks like the cache has gone so we've decided to archive the cache now. It's just not worth the bother replacing it when it only gets a couple of visits a year now all the usual suspects have found it.

Many thanks to all who came to do it when it was there. We might re-use the cache idea in a future cache, so watch this space.

Geocache Description:

My name is Bond, Isaac Bond. Licenced to thrill geocachers. I've just been informed that enemy agents have placed another dead letter drop in the North Shropshire area. My informant does not know where it is located, but I have managed to find pictures of the route to the location on the hard disks of enemy computers.

As I am only 8 years old and have just two successful missions under my belt, I am still a spy in training so I need assistance from you in my mission. Can you help me? Remember, this mission is for Queen and country so mind your P's and Q's (and M's) of course.

To find the cache, go to the co-ordinates above. From there follow the pictures below, which I managed to download off the enemy computers.

At each junction do not assume you will be going straight on. The next picture will lead you the right way if you look carefully for the clues.

Start here ...

And then follow these clues:

You should have arrived at the parking location. which is just opposite the last picture above. Park by the start of the track as shown below, being careful not to block the gate.

Walk down this track...and follow the pictures...

Look for this and you will be very warm .

When you find the cache, it may (or it may not) take you a little longer than usual to sign the logbook. It's really up to you how quick you do it as everything you need can be found at the cache. The cache is a regular sized ammo box.

Isaac's information tells him that there *may* be another way of doing this cache as he has reason to believe the enemy *may* have access to our GC.com account. If you do the cache by other means, please mention it in the logs, but do not give away how you did it. Isaac would, however, prefer you to do the cache as intended as it's much more fun.

Update 29/12/08: The last two paragraphs mention a final 'twist' in the cache. Part of this is currently missing, so in the meantime the numbers you need are 151.

Background info: Isaac watched a TV program a while ago which included an old fashioned car based treasure hunt and remarked at the time that it would be fun to do a cache based on that kind of idea. We've tried to make the pictures show obvious features and where a turn is involved, there is a picture of the scene soon after the turn so you do not go too far out of your way if you take a wrong turn.

Have fun! We hope you enjoy doing something a little different on this cache...
