Roquefeuille - Château médiéval en ruine. - ruined medieval
Castle.
Au dessous du
Mont Aurélien, une randonnée d'environ 1H30 (allé & retour) par
un chemin balisé (en bleu) vous permet d'atteindre la cache sur le
lieu d'un château médiéval. La dénivelé totale de la montée est de
390 mètres.

A la limite du Var et des Bouches dur Rhône,
entre Trets et Pourcieux sur la route départementale (D6b), vous
trouverez un parking [N43°28.023' E005°44.734'], près d'un pont de chemin de
fer.
Vous y garez votre voiture (deux ou trois
places) et vous passez sous le pont de chemin de fer. Vous tournez
à droite juste après . Il ne faut pas passer sur le petit pont qui
enjambe un ravin mais se diriger vers les vignes.
Vous suivez sur moins de 600 mètres, le chemin
en lisière du bois qui longe les vignes jusqu'au pont qui passe sur
le canal de Provence.
Après le Canal, [N43°27.669' E
005°44.881'] vous
poursuivez par le petit sentier qui est juste en face qui
monte.
Vous arrivez sur un chemin [N43°27.591'
E005°44.994'] que vous empruntez dans le Vallon du Pardigon jusqu'à
une bifurcation [N 43°27.415' E 005°45.205']. A la bifurcation, vous devez prendre
le chemin à gauche sur 450 métres.
A ce lieu [N43°27.443' E005°45.519'], un chemin qui grimpe vous conduira
à travers bois jusqu'aux ruines du Château Médiéval de Roquefeiulle
[N
43°27.229' E 005°45.853']. En chemin vous passez à coté d'une bâtisse ruinée. Les
ruines du château se trouvent sur un piton rocheux qui donne une
vue magnifique sur la Sainte Victoire et toute la
vallée.
Attention, le rocher surplombe le vide sur
quelques mètres.

Roquefeuil. De roche et " fueilh " feuillage,
cette ancienne paroisse à longtemps été rattachée à celle de
Pourcieux. A la révolution le seigneur du lieu ayant fui en Italie,
ce territoire fut confisqué par les Biens Nationaux puis vendu à la
commune de Pourrières.
Le Mont Aurélien appellation liée à l'existence
de la voie romaine antique dénommée localement "chemin d'Orient",
la déformation d'Orient aurait donné Aurélien.

On the border of the Var and Bouches du Rhône,
among Trets and Pourcieux on the secondary road ( D6b), you will

You park there your car ( two or three places)
and you pass under the railroad bridge. You turn to the right just
after. It isn't necessary to pass on the small bridge which steps
over a ravine but you go to vineyards.
You follow on less than 600 metres, the road in
border of the wood which goes along vineyards until the bridge
which cross on the canal of Provence.

you continue by the small
path which is just opposite which rises.
You arrive on a road [N43°27.591 ' E005°44.994
'] which you take in the Vallon du Pardigon until a fork

43°27.415 ' E 005°45.205 ']. In the fork, you have to take the road to the left on
450 métres.
In this place [N43°27.443 ' E005°45.519
'], a path which
climbs will drive, you through wood until the ruins of the Castle
Medieval of Roquefeiulle [N 43°27.229 ' E 005°45.853
']. Along the way
you pass near a ruined building. The ruins of the castle are on a
rocky hook which gives a magnificent sight on Sainte Victoire and
all the valley.

metres.

Roquefeuil. Of cliff and " fueilh " foliage,
this ancient(former) parish in for a long time connected with that
of Pourcieux. In the revolution the Lord of the place having run
away in Italy, this territory was seized with the National
Possessions then sold to the municipality of Pourrières.
The Mountain Aurélien naming bound(connected) to
the existence of the antique Roman way called(mentioned) locally "
road of East ", the deformation of East would have given
Aurélien.
