Geocache Description:

Cache at a neighborhood trailhead to Santa Teresa County Park. Short walk from parking.

My local neighborhood trailhead to Santa Teresa County Park is now official! I had a cache here when it was an unofficial one), but the neighbors complained about the all the hikers, bikers, and joggers using the trail, so the county closed the trail to the public. Those neighbors have since moved and the county now has made this a legal trailhead.

As this is now an official trailhead, official trail signs are posted, though you have to walk in a little from the street parking to see them. The Santa Clara County Mounted Ranger unit is also there . Another cache is not far away up the trail from this trailhead and if you go further up the trail (and it definitely is up, and steep), you can reach many other caches in the park.

Park hours are from 8:00am to sunset. Dogs on leash and bicycles are allowed on the trail.

Cache is in a camo taped, short cylindrical container which contains a FTF geocoin, several geo-pins, and logsheet. Bring your own pen.

As this trail borders the local neighborhood residences, please take care to not disturb them while searching for the cache. The cache can easily be reached from the trailside, so do not search near the neighbor's fences.
