Geocache Description:

This is a difficult cache located in a spectacular but very rugged area, suitable for experienced bushwalkers only. To reach it will require an above average level of fitness. You need to be comfortable with route finding and off track navigation through difficult mountains terrain. The 1:25000 Kanangra topographic map would be very useful. Though no rock climbing is necessary if you use the recommended approach route, there is some scrambling required and there are sections of modest exposure. A head for heights would be advantageous. It is similar in difficulty to some of the nearby canyons. In many places the going is very steep. There are a lot of cliffs and drops in the area along with loose rocks – extreme care is required. Depending on your skill and fitness levels this cache would take most of a day to achieve. It is strongly recommended that:
1. You do not attempt this cache in bad weather.
2. You do not attempt this cache either alone or in a large party.
3. You are suitably equipped and prepared for walking in rugged wilderness terrain.

The best approach is the spur to the east. Any other approach route greatly increases the hazard & difficulty level and may require ropes & rock climbing. The views from many points on the journey to this cache are exceptional.

Note on Cache Location:
Given the difficulty in reaching GZ this note is provided to ensure the actual cache is located with a minimum of difficulty. On reaching the vicinity of GZ you will be on a narrow ridge. If you are coming from the east there will be a sheer rock face of 3 to 5 metres. Your GPS should be indicating a location about 4 to 5 metres away towards Danae Brook. The cache is located in an alcove at the base of a large rock with a small climb down of about one and a half metres. The container is a large ammo box. As with much of the route there are loose rocks and a big drop is not far away.
