Placed in conjunction with The Great MEAT-n-Greet at Coopers Rock and with permission of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, this cache hunt will take you on a pleasant walk through beautiful Coopers Rock State Forest.
The cache container is another .50 cal ammo can in the Wanna Go to the Can series courtesy of ScoutingWV. If you see him at the event or meet him out on a trail in WV somewhere, thank him for donating all of these ammo cans so that we may give you an opportunity to get out of the house and do a little hiking in the woods!
This latest cache in the series is hidden just off of Ridge Trail in the western end of the Coopers Rock Recreation Area of the forest and can be reached from many different starting points. Ridge Trail can be accessed from Rock City Trail, Rattlesnake Trail or Rhododendron Trail. And if you prefer a little more elevation change on the hike, you can even reach the cache from Clay Furnace. Again, I’d like to thank ScoutingWV for the cache container and the great folks at the WVDNR for rushing through the approval process so that this cache could be activated in time for our event. Hope you enjoy the walk!
