Geocache Description:

We recommend that you attempt to pull of the highway as much as you can for your own safety.

This is a monument that most people haven’t noticed on the monotonous drive between Bairnsdale and Sale. Please treat it with respect and stealth, as we would hate it to be vandalised or compromised in any way because of geocaching. I once met the cousin of the man who created this masterpiece, and I got the impression that he was an indigenous man with talent and time on his hands.

The roadside redgum is in an area where there isn’t very much else to see, so we didn’t feel the need to hide it anywhere but at the monument itself. However, it was quickly muggled, so we have placed it very close by to the south, within a couple of tens of metres. Unfortunately the accuracy was very poor the day we placed it, so we'll wait until we have more accurate coordinates before we publish the new location.
Also, it is not a particularly complicated hide – so please ensure that the cache itself is not visible to the naked eye when you leave.

The cache is a screw-top plastic fruit jar.
