Bluestone State Park needs a Geocache! Well, thanks to the S.P.
people for approving my cache, it now does. Just off of
Rhodedendron Run Trail -- a solid but steep trail about 1 mile
round trip from bottom to top. Cache is within about 20' of trail
(and the parks people highly discourage bushwacking).
It's a little steep around this area, both on the trail & off,
so use caution.
2 parking places are suggested.
I prefer the 1st as I have a personal rule: "Whenever possible,
make the hike home downhill."
The 2nd makes it a shorter hike. Your choice.
Container has an Official WVSP Geocaching sticker. It's not a huge
container, and I got a little swag-happy filling it, so it's pretty
full. I'm sure that'll fix itself in a little time :-)
This is Deweyz 1st Summer Fun Cache. In the idea of "Summer
funness", this cache includes:
A log book. Read the 1st page of the log, it gives
coordinates to my favorite place in the park, which you who are
unfamiliar with the park will likely enjoy. As for actual
swag:
Basic hiking fun -- bandaids, hair ties, Off! Bug wipes,
Park map, and Bluestone SP postcards.
Basic outdoor fun -- Water gun, bubbles, golf ball,
adult-size swim goggles
Basic Geocaching fun -- a small cache for you to hide, a
FTF coin, a couple personal nickels, and a TB I've keep
forgetting to take with me when I go caching.
And I'm sure I've forgotten some things...it's pretty full
Soon to be archived per the state parks rules...whenever LisaVK has
time to retrieve it. If you want it, find it soon!
