Geocache Description:

Located in the Franklin Fels Memorial Sanctuary in North Salem, NY. An easy 2-stage multi. Cache is a 50 cal ammo can.

This scenic stretch of land in northern Westchester is convenient to those in NY and CT. It is owned by the Bedford Audubon Society. Trail maps are available on their website. Park at PK on Lake View Road. There is no sign. But you will see a white blaze on a tree at the trail head. Step back into a land before time. The trails are a little rough for the first 0.1 miles. Follow the white trail, through a marsh, over a bridge, and into the main preserve. Proceed to the cache coordinates to find stage 1 which contains the coordinates for the final, which is a 50 cal ammo can. Total hike is about 1.9 miles round trip.

If you want a longer hike, detour on the blue trail at WTBL1 and proceed to a clearing on a spur at TRVW to get a view of the Titicus reservoir. Backtrack to the blue trail turning at SPRBL. Finally rejoin the white trail at WTBL2.

It's hard to believe that I have found such a cool reserve in Westchester that has not had a Jonboy cache placed in it! So here is my little thank you for all the caches he has placed all over Westchester and beyond.

As for the name: It is both a hill in the Franklin Fels and a song:
