Spillway Special Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the Onalaska Spillway. It is a short walk from the road when approaching the cache from French Island, but in the summer months the more adventurous may want to approach from Onalaska by crossing the spillway, but you may get your shoes wet.

The original Onalaska Spillway spans the Black River from Onalaska to French Island. This is where the Black River flows out of Lake Onalaska. The spillway was built in the 1930's (at the same time as Lock and Dam 7 on the Mississippi), and was reconstructed from 1994-1995.

The cache is a an ammo box.
