Geocache Description:

within easy reach of a prepared walking trail

Geologically, this area is at the escarpment which separates the hilly regions to the east and south from the flat regions to the north and west, an area sometimes referred to as "The Arc of Appalachia." This area is replete with wildflowers in the spring, including great expanses of trillium, an endangered species in Ohio; as well as wild geranium, jewelweed, yarrow and queen anne's lace. If you are fortunate, you may spot Sullivantia which blooms in the valley in mid-summer.

Please do not walk on the flowers!

When placed, this cache contains the log, a pair of toy 'geek' glasses, a rock collection, a pez dispenser, a tape measure key chain, and a "Camp Rollerblade" keep-your-stuff-dry-around-your-neck waterproof thingie. The container is a clear (as per Ohio State Park guidelines) container not quite large enough to get a dvd in standard packaging into - contained in a camo netting bag.

This trail has some steep ups and downs and, if you do the whole loop, is over a mile long. If you have children who enjoy the woods and do not mind a little exercise, bring 'em along, but you might want to leave the littler ones and the whiners behind.
