Geocache Description:

[Cz] Tato nenarocna, 2,5 km dlouha trasa ma za ukol vam ukazat nekolik zajimavych mist ve stredu Modran.
[En] This easy, 1.5 mile long path will show you some interesting places in the centre of Modrany.

Tato cache podporuje jednoduche stahovani vzorcu do aplikace Handy Geocaching.

[Cz] Modrany jsou starobylou obci – prvni zminka pochazi z roku 1178, kdy knize Sobeslav II daroval vysehradske kapitule cast Modran s vinici. V roce 1963 se staly mestem a v roce 1968 byly pripojeny k Praze. Dnes jsou soucasti mestske casti Praha 12.
Na brehu Vltavy je prumyslova zona (donedavna zde stal jeden z nejstarsich ceskych cukrovaru) a po slouceni s Prahou se na modranskem uzemi objevila panelova sidliste. Presto v Modranech zustala pekna a klidna mista a v okoli zajimave prirodni lokality, jako napr. Modranska rokle. (Vice informaci o Modranech: http://www.praha12.cz)

1.) Startovnim bodem je pomnik na souradnicich N 50°00.352; E 014°24.764.
Je to pamatka na obeti oblehani Prahy Prusy 3. kvetna 1757.
A je pocet pontonu, ktere vzali Prusove z pontonoveho mostu postaveneho nasimi.

2.) Pokracujte vilovymi ulicemi na N 50°00.6(2A-1); E 014°24.208.
Stojite pod Arcibiskupskou vinici, na ktere (severne od vas) stoji historicky vinicni dum.
B je pocet oken v prizemi na jizni stene vinicniho domu.

3.) U skoly, postavene v letech 1937-1938, stoji na souradnicich N 50°00.434; E 014°24.2(B)9 pomniky, na kterych zjistite cisla C a D.
C je posledni dvojcisli roku, ve kterem Ladislav Kunte hovoril pred nemeckym lidovym soudem.
D je pocet jmen na tabuli „1914-1918 nasim padlym“.

4.) Na sve ceste po Modranech nemuzete vynechat Modransky biograf. Po zaplavach v roce 2002 byl opraven a nyni podle me patri k nejprijemnejsim prazskym kinum. Navic je tu hospudka se zahradkou – doporucuji se tu posilnit na dalsi cestu.
E je pocet zasklenych vitrin s programem kina na zdi vedle schodu na N 50°00.219; E 014°24.2(D-C+2A).

5.) Souradnice N 50°00.2(C); E 014°24.3(D+B+2E) vas privedou ke vstupni brane na klidne misto, kde muzete odpocivat v pokoji, jak dlouho chcete. Kostel je poprve pripominan v roce 1329, ale zalozen byl patrne mnohem drive. Jeho soucasna podoba je vysledkem oprav a prestaveb po poskozeni behem husitskych valek a tricetilete valky.
F je pocet spicatych liliovitych utvaru na mrizich vstupni brany (viz obrazek).

[En] The oldest record of the quaint village of Modrany is from 1178, when prince Sobeslav II donated a part of the village with a vineyard to the Vysehrad chapter. Modrany became a town in 1963 and five years later it was united with Prague. It is now a part od Prague 12.
There is and industrial area at the bank of Vltava and panel apartment complexes have been built since the end of sixties. However, a number of beautiful and quiet places and valuable natural localities remained in Modrany.

1.) Your starting point is a memorial at: N 50°00.352; E 014°24.764.
It commemorates the victims of Prussian siege of Prague from May 3, 1757.
A is the number of pontoons taken from the Czech pontoon bridge by Prussians.

2.) Go on to: N 50°00.6(2A-1); E 014°24.208.
You are standing below the Archbishop vineyard with a historical vineyard house (north from you).
B is the number of the ground floor windows in the southern wall of the vineyard house.

3.) In front of the school, built in 1937-1938, there is a set of memorials at: N 50°00.434; E 014°24.2(B)9.
It commemorates the citizens of Modrany who died in WWI & WWII.
C is the last two digits of the year when Ladislav Kunte was speaking at German people court.
D is the number of people listed in the panel named „1914-1918 nasim padlym“.

4.) You can’t leave out the cinema on your way about Modrany. Having been repaired after 2002 floods it is now (in my opinion) one of the best Prague’s cinemas (comfortable seats, never crowded, a garden pub – try it!).
E is the number of paned show-windows with the cinema programme in the wall next to the stairs at:
N 50°00.219; E 014°24.2(D-C+2A).

5.) The coordinates N 50°00.2(C); E 014°24.3(D+B+2E) will lead you to an entrance gate to a quiet place where you can rest in peace as long as you will. The first record of the church is from 1329 but it was probably built much earlier. Its current appearance is a result of repairs and reconstructions after serious damages during Hussite wars and Thirty Years’ War.
F je the number of pointed lily-like things in the lattice of the gate (see picture).
