All the Good Names Are Taken Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Arnold Evrkachen: Because this cache was over 3 years old (and the cache guidelines for Pocahontas State Park state that a cache should be removed after 3 years), I have archived it. Thanks to all who took the time to find it.

Geocache Description:

A medium-sized Lock 'n' Lock container hidden in Pocahontas State Park.

WARNING! THIS CACHE IS HIDDEN IN AN AREA OF THE PARK OPEN TO HUNTING. PLEASE TAKE ALL APPROPRIATE PRECAUTIONS.

Probably the best place to park is where Loop Forest Trail (a park road) meets Courthouse Road (N 37° 24.039 W 77° 33.300). There is a fee for parking; pay at the main park entrance off Beach Road or (shameless plug) buy an annual or lifetime pass.

From here it is approximately a 1 mile hike to the cache. Most of the way is on a wide, gravel fire road. About the last third of the way is a bushwhack.

You may want to spend a weekend or longer at Pocahontas State Park. In addition to having numerous caches, its other amenities include hiking trails, biking trails, bridle trails, picnic areas, camping (including 60+ new campsites in 2006 with water & electrical hookups at each site and a new laundromat), a nature center, a CCC museum, a pool, and a lake for fishing and boating (bring your own small boat (no gasoline engines) or rent a canoe or paddle boat).
