A small “bring your own pencil” container located on what must now be called Buckwheat Ridge near the cache named “Ithmus Be the Place.” Can be approached from Spring Canyon or Shepherd Canyon. Either way it’s a stiff climb.
Once upon a time this hide was situated beside a beehive that was located inside the metal shroud that covers cables of a power pole. Too bad, the beehive is gone.
Now the attraction of this hide is an unusual view of State Highway 52 as seen from high above on the ridgeline.
The unusual title of this hide is a tribute to the Little Rascals character named Buckwheat who often spoke the tag-line "Otay?" Splashette suggested the title because of the nearby cache named "Ithmus Be the Place."
