Geocache Description:

Congratulations to Postpile who was the First to Find Excalibur!

One request, if you are unable to complete the course due to unable to find one of the clue ammo cans, please indicate in your log which course marker you were at. It will make it easier for me to check! Thank you!

Warning, the legend of the sword in the stone has returned. The true test of your caching instinct is here. King Arthur's legendary sword, EXCALIBUR, has returned in a new form & will take you on a several mile hike through the grassy plains at the front of the park! My wife, Jodster, Puzzlelady44 & I spent several weekends mapping the orienteering course that Eagle Scout Chris Edgar has placed in the park & giving it a twist. Due to the re-arrangement of the course, the total travel distance is almost 4 miles. I hope you enjoy a true test of your skills & that you enjoy this hunt! There are 14 ammo cans in all to find. This is part of a series that I'm placing with the help of my wife, Jodster & our great friend Puzzlelady44. You will have to work for this one & I do mean work! This cache was created by special request. Someone once told me that my caches were not challenging enough. (The same person also said that my math problems were too tuff) They wanted something harder to find. Well, you know who you are, this one's for you! ;) You will find this cache in J.B. Starkey Park. Special thanks goes out to Pazooter & Clearwater Rob for help with this cache page. Without their help this cache page would not look this good. And to the park administration for allowing us to place these caches in this beautiful park! Now, Jodster & myself are usually in the park either Saturday or Sunday. We keep an FRS radio with us & on. We monitor channels 2 & 12. So if you are in the park, have an FRS radio (Motorola Talkabout) & would like help or to meet, just give us a shout! Parking is at N 28° 15.175 W 082° 38.427. Inventory when set up: First to Find certificate Verizon CPE lanyard Verizon Copy holder (Desktop) Verizon FiOS TV Copy holder w/mirror Toy dog Toy Dino Prehistoric Foam pill (place in warm/hot water for 1 minute) Red & blue Splash Bomb Pet Gospel Network book mark Congratulations to? Who will be the First to Find Excalibur! Ok, now for your test! First off, you will need some supplies for this cache! Note book or pad. Pen or pencil and most importantly, a compass! If you do not have a compass, please do not attempt this cache! From the parking lot at the corral you will find a orienteering marker on a post at the co-ordinates at the top of this page. On top of this marker are instructions for 3 different courses. Follow the instructions on this marker "AX" to the next marker for course "C". Once you are there, go on bearing of 355° 100 feet. Find the 30 cal Ammo can with your next set of instructions in it! You will need to take notes as to the compass bearings for all steps & the course marker letters that you visit. Good luck & happy hunting! May the Knights of the Round Table guide you on your journey!
