Geocache Description:

This cache rewards you with a breathtaking view, but is really hard to reach, unless you have a geocopter at your disposal.

If you are not comfortable with caches like The Kettle, that involve a scramble up and down a steep slope of loose rubble, then don't try this. This is just like that, just more of it. Much more.

Reaching the area is not hard. If you have a four wheel drive, then refer to Ionis Thompson's book "Desert Treks from Riyadh". But a four wheel drive is not mandatory - I set the cache using a 2WD. If you want to try it with a 2WD, then leave the tarmac at N23°44.745' E46°23.171'. A good fast gravel road takes you most of the way to the cache site, but be careful - the Camelodian warriors patrol the area in large numbers. Near the end the road deteriorates to just a track and some parts of the track are sandy and quite soft, but still navigable with a 2WD - just don't stop at the sandy parts.

Prepare to be out of your car for at least three hours and bring lots of water - especially in summer. I consumed about 3.5 liters of it while setting the cache and it was a cool day of just 36°C.

I rated the terrain difficulty against the local practice based on the dismounted portion. See other caches in the area for the rating of the drive to the area (although they overestimate it because this can be reached with a 2WD). Finding the cache is straightforward. It is a big blue tin can and partially visible if you look from the right angle. Please return the stones around the container as they were and check that they stay there steadily. Their purpose is not to hide the cache from view, but to make sure it stays there no matter how hard the wind blows.
