Geocache Description:

Up the Garden Path

This cache is in a wood just off a main track close to Sissinghurst Castle Gardens.

Parking at recommended waypoint and follow the footpath from there. You can park at the gardens but there is a charge (unless you are a NT member). If you want to see the gardens and the castle there is an additional entry fee too.
There is now (as of 2019) a trail (Sissinghurst Stroll) around the NT grounds so this can be found while completing that trail.

The main track through the wood can be very muddy winter/spring time so be prepared. If walking dogs please be aware of the road at the end of the main track, you can follow the footpath to the left if you want to continue to the castle grounds.

This cache was originally placed by Kentish Maidens in 2006 - and we were in fact 2nd to find after TheCauserCrew way back in April 2006. Kentish maidens since moved to Norfolk and the cache was being 'cared for' by another local cacher - Dig Dog Hunters.

In June 2019 the cache was adopted over to Deepdiggingmole, this cache now being very local to them, who had also put out a trail in the area.

If there are any issues with the cache please add an 'Owner Attention Required' log in order to highlight any problem to the CO - If there is an issue with the logsheet do not replace it with odd bits of paper, the CO will replace it when made aware.  smiley

Oh! and there is no pen/pencil in the cache - who goes out caching without a pen anyway ? wink
In order to log a 'found' online you must sign the physical logsheet - unless good reason for not being able to do so (sodden / full logsheet etc - if this is the case, ensure an OAR log is also added, followed up with a photo sent to the CO in messages) - however, if you didn't sign the logsheet for any other reason then just log a 'write note'.

For those interested in Jasmer grids :-
For caches hidden in the month of April 2006 - as of April 2023 there are only 166 still active in the UK (it was 175 in April 2022)
However this is one of only four remaining active caches in Kent that was hidden in that month.
