Stop! It's Hammertown! Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

TOMTEC: Hiked along the moraine today with Elf & R@inbow as we took Johnny the Dog for another walk, this time to see if we could teach him to climb a stile. Parked at the trailhead and noticed some rumbling to accompany the dark sky... Doesn't bother me, we'll see how Johnny takes it though. Hopefully better than Elf and R@inbow [B)] he he. With some coaching, he made it over the first style and was so happy, the second style he found a hole in the fence and snuck through... he he, smart guy! We were quite thoroughly soaked by the time we reached the cache, and R@inbow found it instantly... After a quick peek at the contents, we packed up the container and hiked back up the trail. Seems there has not been much maintenance on some of these trails in a while. Oh well, it was a great hike, and I'm sure Johnny can't wait for the next one!

The cache container and redirect tag have been removed, and this listing is now archived. Thanks everyone for visiting. Hope you enjoyed it.

(sung to the tune of "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer)

Every time you see me, that TOMTEC's just so hype
I've found another lame micro, while caching out with Spike
Now why would I ever stop doing this
With others hidin' caches that just don't hit
I cached around the world from DR to Georgian Bay
It's TOMTEC go TOMTEC MC Timmay! Yo TOMTEC and the rest can go and play

Can't cache this
Can't cache this
Can't cache this
Break it down!
(Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)

This cache was originally hidden as part of the Home on the Moraine series, but has now been transitioned to a regular cache hide.

At the listed coordinates, you will find a sign posted by the Oak Ridges Trail Association giving thanks to the local landowners for allowing the trail on their property.

Who are the landowners?
Count the number of letters in the name and divide the total by 100
Add this number to both the minutes in the following coordinates to find the next stage:
N43 58.149 W79 44.157

The next stage is a brass tag attached to a fence post which contains the coordinates for the final.
The final cache is a camouflage painted ammo can hidden out of sight.
You can Park along the side of the 12th Concession at: N43 58.188 W79 44.766 and follow the trail into the forest. The trail is also accessible from 11th Concession in the east, but the entire length of this road is an actively patrolled tow-away zone, so do so at your own risk!
You will follow the Oak Ridges Trail through private property within sight of a residence and need to climb 2 stiles on your way to the cache. Please be respectful to the property owners. Hopefully your geodog is trained to climb stiles!

The Oak Ridges Moraine extends 160 kilometres from the Niagara Escarpment in the west to the Trent River system in the east, and is on average 13 kilometres wide. One-hundred-and-fifty metres deep, the Moraine stands out as one of the most distinct landscapes of southern Ontario. Its height above the flat lands to the north and south, its rolling hills and river and stream valleys and large blocks of mixed forest provide solace and a sense of connection to the people who live, work and play on the Moraine, natural and wild habitat for flora and fauna, and untapped recreational opportunities.

NOTES:
  1. Family friendly.
  2. Not Recommended at Night due to proximity of landowner residence.
  3. Bicycles are not allowed on this section of the ORM Trail.
