Linton Cup-a-Cache Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

TOMTEC: Hiked along the moraine today with Elf & R@inbow as we took Johnny the Dog for a walk to see how he would handle the trails. Parked at the trailhead expecting to be greeted by the local dog, but he was nowhere to be seen. Oh well, atleast we have the mosquitoes for company... He he. After a couple applications of bug spray, they finally backed off, but would not leave us alone. The cache was located easily, and R@inbow elected to carry it back to the car instead of signing it there and being swarmed. Johnny enjoyed the trails and was itching for more. He's going to make his next family very happy!

The cache container has been removed, and this listing is now archived. Thanks everyone for visiting. Hope you enjoyed it.

Geocache Description:

Located along a section of the Oak Ridges Moraine Trail near Linton, Ontario Cache elevation: 307m

This cache was originally hidden as part of the Home on the Moraine series, but has now been transitioned to a regular cache hide.

You can Park along the side of the 10th Concession at: N43 57.892 W79 41.569 and follow the trail into the forest. The trail is also accessible from Hwy 27, but parking is nonexistent and you'll be stuck hiking though muddy fields most of the way... So don't bother!

The cache is a camouflage taped 1L Lock & Lock container hidden at ground level.

The Oak Ridges Moraine extends 160 kilometres from the Niagara Escarpment in the west to the Trent River system in the east, and is on average 13 kilometres wide. One-hundred-and-fifty metres deep, the Moraine stands out as one of the most distinct landscapes of southern Ontario. Its height above the flat lands to the north and south, its rolling hills and river and stream valleys and large blocks of mixed forest provide solace and a sense of connection to the people who live, work and play on the Moraine, natural and wild habitat for flora and fauna, and untapped recreational opportunities.

NOTES:
  1. Night raid friendly.
  2. Family friendly.
  3. Follow the Big White Dog... he knows the way!
