Geocache Description:

You can’t say no to CCC’s

SA Geocachers invite you to the June long weekend caching event at Kapunda. Three days of fun and caching in and around the historic town of Kapunda.

Geocaching central is the Dutton Park football clubrooms. Accommodation is available 100m away at the Kapunda Tourist & Leisure Park 08 8566 2094, including camping, powered sites and approximately 10 well appointed cabins. Kapunda Visitor Information Centre 08 8566 2902 can be contacted for local B&B’s, or try Sir John Franklin Hotel 08 8566 3233 for double or single rooms.

Situated 75kms north of Adelaide in green rolling hills Kapunda is surrounded by an interesting variety of roads and vistas, 20kms of Heysen trail, and some of the biggest and best caches in the state.

Final reminder to all event goers.

Event program as previously set out is confirmed.

- Saturday morning 11am: meet, greet and brief. Head out to place caches. Each team will place two caches. One cache from each team may be a permanent traditional. There will be points for best camo, and most innovative hide. Nothing over three star, and no micros, please.

- Saturday evening 4pm: games for kids and an ice breaker for the adults. Meals as you want. Self cook BBQ's are available at the footy clubroom. A night game has been organised.

- Saturday later. Quarantine GPSr’s and upload.

- Sunday: find caches. Event briefing and photos from 9.30am. Cache hunting to start from 10am. All caching to finish by 4pm. There will be points for being back on time, and there will be points for picking up your temporary cache after the completion of caching.

- Sunday evening: Secret Geocacher's Ball, including BBQ meal (bring your own meat and provide a plate of salad per team for the extensive smorgasbord), fancy dress, games, novelty skits, talent exhibitions, and prize presentations. Each team should bring a wrapped prize to the value of $10.

- Monday: recovery, clean up and drive home.

Playing field image has been uploaded and at (visit link) as well. Game zone is based on an area within a circle with a radius of 15km from the Cap-Under Caching Classic waypoint. In the interests of participant safety the game zone will not extend west of Main North Road, or south of Sturt Highway.

Cachers are reminded to bring a UHF radio if available. If you have a PC cable for your GPS please make sure it is available for upload and download.

Please forward your mobile number to mluke@amdel.com. We will be texting messages during the cache hunt.

A CITO cache will be run in conjunction with the main event.

Note cachers accommodation is still available at various bed and breakfasts, and hotels in and around Kapunda.

Each team is asked to consider bringing a permanent cache to place in the game area. This permanent traditional cache will be a part of the weekend game. Due to the vagaries of the 160m rule some discussion may be required between teams after placement.

Each team should bring a wrapped prize to the value of $10. If you have a PC cable for your GPS please make sure it is available for upload and download.

To cover costs of clubroom hire and consumables a charge of $15/team will be extorted at the start of the weekend. Any funds left over will be donated to charity.
