Geocache Description:

The cache is not located at the listed coordinates. Overall terrain is easy, but not completely wheel chair accessible. Therefore, we rate terrain at 1.5. We believe the difficulty of locating the cache is a 4, but as this is our first hide, please help us with accuracy (or lack thereof) by providing feedback.

The listed coordinates denote the location of an architectural detail inside a local landmark whose residents enjoy international fame. While visiting their domain you will collect information concerning nearby architectural details and decorations which you will use to calculate the coordinates for the next step of your trek to this well-secreted, fake rock hide. When you reach the second location you will use certain details of the structure located there to determine your path to the cache. Be sure to bring a writing utensil. Please replace close to the position in which you found it. See the details below and good hunting. At the first stop on your journey to the cache, leisurely examine the floors, walls and ceiling, as well as the items displayed in the cases around the exterior edge of the seating area, where the central feature provides recreation for the structure’s most famous dwellers. For your northern coordinates, count the sections in one of the stained glass ceiling panels and add one, yielding X + 1 degrees. Find the accompanying minutes by counting the corbels surrounding a ceiling panel and transposing the resulting two digits. Add 500 to the result of your transposition, and then multiply the sum by the number of floodlights in the center ceiling panel. Precede this number with a zero and place a decimal point between the second and third digits. For west, multiply the number of design sections in a section of wrought iron banister, which is located behind and above the focal point of the seating area (where a flower arrangement is displayed), by ten. To this result, add the number of complete square black marble floor tiles along one side of the octagonal apron of the residents’ swimming pool and add the number of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling inside the seating area. Precede this figure with a zero to arrive at degrees. Minutes, as you know, consist of 5 numbers with a decimal point between the second and third digit. For the first of these numbers, count the number of lights (electronic candle flames) in one of the wall sconces which you can see in the second floor gallery behind a very prominent wooden structure which occupies one end of the seating area. For the second number, add the number of cherubs to the number of lions located on the octagonal structure, which supports the flower arrangement mentioned before. Add to that figure, the number of pieces of marble from which the “swimming pool” sculpture is carved. The third number can be determined by counting the number of display cases surrounding the seating area with their backs to it (or a baker's dozen minus 1) then dividing that number by the number of the elevator used by the structure’s famous residents when they enter or leave their recreation area. To get the fourth number subtract the number of square black marble tiles on a side of the octagonal structure in the seating area from the number of floodlights in the ceiling panel above the octagonal structure. The fifth number is the same as the third number. Plotting your results will prove your coordinates are correct (a few miles away). Use Yvonne Bobo’s system and draw a line from the “planet of love” through the sun plus about 5 degrees. From the sun’s face extend your line approximately 53 feet to find the hiding place of the log sheet you seek. As the general area is often thickly populated with muggles, please be aware and take good care while you search to be sure the cache’s secrecy is preserved, replacing the container as you found it when you have signed the log. Thanks for playing our game!!
