Geocache Description:

A macro-multi-micro in a shady spot on a sunny trail in Santa Teresa Park

The purpose of this cache is to bring you up the Ridge Trail, which is one of the lesser-known trails in Santa Teresa Park. It mainly serves as a connector trail between the Hidden Springs and Coyote Peak Trails, but has some spectacular views. There are two ways to experience this trail. The easy way is to start from the Pueblo Area and take the Hidden Springs Trail to the Ridge Trail. This route is mostly downhill. The hard way is to start at the Golf Course by "Santa Teresa Driving Lessons" (GCQCYH), head up the hill past "Coyote Peak Shady Rest" (GCN793), take the right fork to "Rest On Your Laurels" (GCNYXZ), then head up the hill. As you climb, you get nearly constant views of the Santa Teresa Golf Course and the Santa Teresa Area. Eventually, you can see much of the Bay Area on a clear day. The trail runs in and out of trees, but is mostly sunny. This cache is in a cool, shady area, about a dozen steps from the trail. It's a macro-multi-micro. "Say what?" It's macro-sized, with multiple micro-caches. It doesn't have room for a pen, so bring your own. It does have room for small trading items. Watch out for snakes and poison oak on this trail. Don't even think about bushwhacking your way up here. Stay on the trail. Poison oak grows in solid hedgerows on the steep hills. There are some steep slopes on the lower parts of this trail that can get pretty muddy and torn up by horses in the winter. The trail coming down from the top is less muddy. Bikes are allowed on this trail.

"Let Sleeping Bears Lie" (GCTM18) is the new cache at the top of this trail. You can catch this on the way up or do it first and come down.
