L'histoire de ce bois!
La forêt domaniale de Flines-les-Mortagne située dans le Parc Naturel Régional Scarpe-Escaut s'étend sur 240 Ha.
Elle faisait jadis partie de la grande forêt du Hainaut dont il ne reste plus actuellement que les forêts domaniales de Raismes, Saint-Amand, Wallers, Marchiennes, Bonsecours et quelques petits massifs particuliers.
Depuis 1884, la forêt appartenait à la famille princière De Croÿ. Des travaux sont engagés afin d'assainir la forêt qui était très humide à l'époque. Des plantations sur ados ont permis aux hêtres de se développer.
En 1914, les descendants des princes De Croÿ résidant en Autriche sont incorporés dans l'armée allemande. La forêt est considérée alors comme bien ennemi et mis sous séquestre en 1919. L'Etat excerse son droit de préemption et la forêt devient domaniale par acquisition en 1924.
Actuellement la forêt est une filière économique importante en Nord-Pas de Calais; cela représente 2000 entreprises, 25.000 ouvriers et artisans soit environs 50 métiers différends. Dans ce bois chaque année mille stères sont exploitées.

Maintenant en avant pour la cache!
Cette promenade ne présente aucune difficulté majeure si ce n'est sa longueur de quelques 5 kilomètres aller-retour. Elle est accessible à tous.
Le premier WP est situé juste à la frontière franco-belge sur le territoire de la commune de Laplaigne (c'est le village de mon enfance...)
Au WP de départ: quel est le nombre d'étoiles?
Si il y en a 10 alors rendez-vous aux coordonnées: N 50.32.304 et E 03.27.897.
Si il y en a 11 alors rendez-vous aux coordonnées: N 50.30.968 et E 03.25.392.
Si il y en a 12 alors rendez-vous aux coordonnées: N 50.31.706 et E 03.28.461.
Au WP 2; parking pour votre véhicule, le reste de la balade s'effectue en effet à pieds. Chercher les coordonnées du WP3 et ainsi de suite jusqu'à la cache. Il y a 4 WP intermédiaires du départ à la cache(tags métallique).
C'est une micro, qui contient le traditionnel "logbook" que vous devez trouvé... Le retour pour les plus téméraires est possible par le "Chemin de bordure" et le "Beautrou" jusqu'au parking. (Voir photo de la carte du bois) ...

Een wandeling in het bos van Flines-les-Mortagne!
De geschiedenis van dit bos!
Het bos van Flines-les-Mortagne gelegen in het regionaal natuurpark Scarpe-Escaut strekt zich over 240 ha uit.
Vroeger maakte het deel uit van het grote bos van Henegouwen, waarvan er vandaag nog slechts de bossen van Raismes, Saint-Amand, Wallers, Marchiennes, Bonsecours en enkele kleine private bossen overblijven.
Sinds 1884 behoort het bos toe aan de prinselijke familie De Croÿ.
Werken werden ondernomen om het bos, dat indertijd heel vochtig was, gezond te maken. Jonge aanplantingen lieten toe dat heesters zich konden ontwikkelen.
In 1914 werden de nakomelingen van de prinsen De Croÿ, wonende in Oostenrijk, ingelijfd in het Duitse leger. Het bos werd aldus eigendom van de vijand en in beslag genomen in 1919. De staat maakt gebruik van het voorverkooprecht en het bos wordt aldus staatseigendom in 1924.
Tegenwoordig is het bos een belangrijke economische trekpleister in de regio Nord-Pas de Calais; deze regio vertegenwoordigt 2000 ondernemingen, 25.000 arbeiders en ambachtsmannen ofte ongeveer 50 verschillende beroepen.
In dit bos worden jaarlijks duizend kubieke meter ontgonnen.

Deze wandeling vertoont geen enkele moeilijkheid, behalve misschien haar lengte van ongeveer 5 kilometer heen en terug.Zij is toegankelijk voor iedereen.
Het eerste WP bevindt zich juist op de Frans-Belgische grens op het grondgebied van Laplaigne (mijn geboortedorp .)
Bij de eerste WP : hoeveel sterren zijn er ?
Indien er 10 zijn, ga naar coördinaten: N 50.32.304 en E 03.27.897.
Indien er 11 zijn, ga naar coördinaten: N 50.30.968 en E 03.25.392.
Indien er 12 zijn, ga naar coördinaten: N 50.31.706 en E 03.28.461.
Bij WP 2, parking voor je voertuig.
Ja, de rest van de tocht gebeurt inderdaad te voet !!
Zoek de coördinaten van WP3 en zo verder tot de cache. Er zijn 4 WP van de start tot aan de cache.
Je moet een doos type "micro" te vinden. Zij bevat het traditionele "logbook" .
De terugweg voor de geharden is mogelijk langs de "Chemin de bordure" en de "Beautrou" tot aan de parking. (Zie foto van de kaart van het bos)

The history of the wood!
The wood of Flines-les-Mortagne is situated in the regional park Scarpe-Escaut and reaches over 240 ha.
It use to be a part of the forest of Hainault, of which today only the woods of Raismes, Saint-Amand, Wallers, Marchiennes, Bonsecours and a few little private woods still exist.
Since 1884 the wood belongs to the princely family De Croÿ.
Work has been done to heal the wood, that use to be very humid. Young plantations permit shrubs to develop.
In 1914 the descendants of the prince De Croÿ, who lived in Austria, where incorporated in the German army. The wood became property of the enemy and was seized in 1919.
The state used the right to buy the wood and so it became state property in 1924.
Today the wood is an important economical attraction for the region Nord-Pas de Calais; this region represents 2000 enterprises, 25.000 employees and craftsman from about 50 different professions.
In this wood every year thousand cubic are exploited.

This walk shows no difficulties, except perhaps its distance, about 5 km.
This trip is accessible for everyone.
