Geocache Description:


Located at the centre of this charming Essex village the windmill which is a tower mill was built in 1787. For over a hundred years it was the main mill in the area providing the surrounding villages with flour. The mill stopped working in 1910 and was quickly established as part of a long term conservation project by the local council. The Stansted Millers voluntary group act as custodians of the mill, offering tours in the Summer months of the building and selling souvenirs to help towards the upkeep.

There is limited parking by the windmill up Millhill.
