Geocache Description:

An easy multi-cache near a secret entrance to the Coyote Creek Trail

This is another milestone cache on the Coyote Creek Trail. The Coyote Creek Trail is one of the best multi-use trails in the Bay Area, and it deserves more caches. This is another installment in my quest to correct that deficiency.

This cache is located at a secret entrance to the Coyote Creek Trail. After the Coyote Creek Trail crosses under Silicon Valley Blvd. it runs next to Eden Park Place, which runs behind a restaurant, hotel, and high-tech industrial park. A barbed wire fence prevents accessing the trail from the road except for a few trail entrances. This is one of the last ones before the road dead ends at an old abandoned orchard. I didn't see a good place to hide a cache near the entrance, except for a micro, so I made this a 2-stage multi. Near the entrance you will find a clue-only 2D cache which has coordinates written on it for the final cache. You must go on the trail to reach the final cache, which is a camo'd decon container. Both caches are close to the trail. You can park on Eden Park Place next to cache 1 and the trail entrance.

This was originally a 2-part multi for safety reasons. You might have been tempted to hop the barbed wire fence and risk getting injured to get to the final cache. Now the second stage is not behind a barbed wire fence, but you still have to find the trail entrance to get to it.

Update 12/26/06
The final cache location has been moved (see the listing for 12/26/06 for more details). It's significantly different from the original location and has some interesting artifacts around it. If you've found this cache before, you can find it again and log it as another find.

Update 4/9/07
I added some redundancy to the cache sequence to improve its reliability. If you can't find the first cache or can't read it, look at the hint. There are two other copies in separate locations that match the hint a short walk farther down the road.

Update 3/25/10: There may be some obsolete old hints still around. If they tell you to go south, ignore them and keep looking.

Original final cache contents:
Fish pen (If you take it, leave a pen)
Hand reflector
Alien eraser
Race car
Die
Magnifying glass
Logbook

Update 6/5/11:
The cache was a victim of trail maintenance. I replaced it at the same spot, but in a smaller container, with less swag in it. Bring your own pen. There are at least 2 redudant stage 1 clues.
