Geocache Description:

This is a Modified Letterbox and Travel Bug Depot

The coordinates are not for the cache, just ample parking at a shopping center. Follow the directions/clues to find this letterbox hybrid. (Added 9/10 If the directions are too confusing or not fun, the hint contains spoiler coordinates.)

(Added 6/14/07 The area has experienced numerous subtle changes over time which has required changes to the clues, and what began as cryptic clues may have become much more difficult to interpret. I wish to leave them cryptic because that seems to be some of the fun of other letterboxes we have found. However, to help you not wander too much here are a couple hints to keep you focused. There are other caches near the stadium so you don't need to get too close to the stadium. If you have walked anywhere close to a quarter mile from the starting point you are probably lost. The hint contains a spoiler.)

Directions:
Over the road toward the hills, between the fences(, to grandmothers house). Stay away from the river, it could be dangerous and should be Left alone. Take the path less trodden, and keep watch over you right shoulder for what you need. Proceed to the third 8 to 10, (8 to 10s are seasonaly removed and replaced, and you may need to be looking for where they were removed from 09/10) here you will find the connecting link. (Maybe now that should be the missing link.)(Ignore the link references since they no longer apply 12/06) (This next clue may be less likely to disappear 6/07) Spot the red 4x4 parked on the ground. You've gone a little too far but if you have made it this far you'll likely be able to find it. (After a year, the red 4x4 parked on the ground has been removed, but you should be able to see where it was which may actually be easier. 8/08) Pivot to 208 degrees and go 46 paces. Dive in and come up with the cache.

(The cryptic clues for this letterbox seem to be cursed. First the "8 to 10s" were removed so I added a connecting link clue. Then the connecting link was stolen and became a missing link. The "8 to 10s" were missing but were then replaced. Later the links adjacent to the missing link were removed and I don't expect they will ever return. I added the red 4x4 parked on the ground clue which was removed after a year but you can see where it was. The "8 to 10s" have come and gone repeatedy, and they appear to be seasonal so you can see where they were if they are not there when you visit. I am going to leave you with only that help until another appropriately cryptic clue illuminates itself to me. I also changed the original "posts" to the less cryptic "fences.")

The rubber stamp and pad are a part of the letterbox- do NOT take them! Use them to stamp your personal letterbox logbook (if you have one), and stamp the letterbox log with your own personal stamp. If you don't have a stamp you may sign the log and draw your favorite bug. Since this seemed like a good place for travel bugs, initial contents also include a WJTB, and FTF bug.

This cache has become one of the required caches for Nor-Cals 5 Oldest Challenge (GC18MBV). The letterbox stamp and stamp pad periodically are taken, but I will try to keep this active even they are missing.

There are no special rules for travel bugs in this cache. If you can help a bug on it's mission please do. However, please remember to log your travel bug transactions.

This letterbox/cache is a camouflaged nut jar hidden in a typical manner. Please hide it back as found so the next person may be able to reach it, and it remains concealed.
