Stunning views of Derwentwater, Keswick, Braithwaite and the
surrounding fells...
Park in Braithwaite village just past the village store, there is a
small layby next to the footpath that takes you up past Braithwaite
Lodge. Passing a splendid old yew tree with a tree house, follow
the sign on the side of the barn showing the path off to the right.
You will see a wide grassy track heading up through the bracken.
The cache is located about halfway up Barrow Fell, just past the
first lower summit. More ambitious cachers may want to continue up
to the top for even more spectacular views...
Although this is a relatively short walk from Braithwaite village,
cachers should be aware of the risk of venturing onto the fells at
any time of year. Make sure you wear adequate footwear and take
along waterproofs and warm clothes. The weather can change
suddenly.
This cache is named because we can see it from our bedroom window,
so give us a wave when you find it!!
