La vue sur la Désirade et la croix du morne Pavillon est agréable.
Croix de la Pointe des Châteaux Monument - Saint-François Particulièrement visité, le bélvédère du Morne Pavillon, arbore fièrement sa croix. On accède à la croix depuis le parking situé au pied du morne Petite saline. Un sentier escarpé serpentant au travers de plantes arbustives aux longues racines, aux feuilles épaisses et vernissées conduit à la croix. 10 m de haut pour un poids de 9 tonnes, elle fut érigée en célébration du centenaire du diocèse à l’initiative du curé de Saint-François, le père Jean-Baptiste de Lahondèses et de l’évêque de Guadeloupe, Monseigneur Gay (1946).
Une nouvelle croix a été placée en 2002. Tout près sont disposées deux tables d’orientation. Très beau point de vue. Dans l’axe de la Pointe des Colibris, le plateau dyssimétrique et tabulaire de La Désirade, plus au sud, les îles de Petite Terre.
Vers le nord-est on découvre la succession de paysages jusqu’aux plateaux de l’est Grande Terre et en bas, l’anse des Châteaux et sa mer agitée, réputée dangereuse pour ses courants.

Saint-François particularly visited, the belvedere of the Morne Pavillon, proudly displays its cross.
You reach the cross from the parking lot at the foot of the dreary Petite Saline. A steep path winding through shrubby plants with long roots, thick and glazed leaves leads to the cross. 10 m high for a weight of 9 tons, it was erected as a celebration of the centenary of the diocese on the initiative of the parish priest of St. Francis, Father Jean-Baptiste de Lahondèses and the Bishop of Guadeloupe, Monsignor Gay (1946 ).
A new cross was placed in 2002. Nearby are two orientation tables. Very nice view. In the axis of the Pointe des Colibris, the dyssimetric and tabular plateau of La Désirade, further south, the islands of Petite Terre. Towards the northeast we discover the succession of landscapes to the plateaux of the east Grande Terre and below, the cove of the castles and its agitated sea, known as dangerous for its currents.
