Geocache Description:

The coordinates above identify the first part of a multi-cache and this is adjacent to a car park. Please note that the car park gates may be locked at night. The start is within Coventry’s War Memorial Park, officially opened in 1921. The War Memorial was unveiled by Field Marshal Earl Haig in 1927.

The actual cache, a micro, is located a short walk away in Canley Ford Millennium Green. The location comprises three hay meadows which are maintained in a traditional manner, resulting in an array of wild flowers, insects and bird life. Various works of art have been installed to stimulate the interests of local children – look out for the Kestrel. The Green was established and is supported by the Friends of Canley Ford.

The route to and from the final location involves crossing the busy Kenilworth Road. There is a pelican crossing, but great care should be taken with young children.

Part 3: The micro (smaller than 35mm film canister) is located at N 52 23.(G/2)(G+H-1)(G+D) W 001 32.(H+C)(G-C)(G+C).

The cache contains just a log.

This is the 11th in a series of caches created by ‘A Coventry Way Association’. The association was formed to promote a long distance footpath, A Coventry Way, and to support local authorities in the path’s maintenance. Our primary aim was to encourage people to discover and use the local countryside. A book of 21 Circular Walks was produced, broadly based on the main walk. Our plan is to set out a series of caches, located on or near each of the 21 walks. See ‘www.acoventryway.org.uk’ for further information.
